When shopping around be sure to look at how many plugs come in each tray! Our tray carries 128 plugs - which means each tray will cover 128 square feet, based on our recommended 12" center spacing guide! A lower price elsewhere might actually mean a higher price per plug!

The ideal time to install Prestige Buffalograss is from March to August. Although conditions may vary from location to location, we strongly recommend planting during these months for optimum success. Please be sure to visit our FAQ section for additional information.

Prestige Buffalograss is the perfect drought tolerant lawn alternative for the south and southeastern regions of the US. Developed in 2003, by the University of Nebraska, this grass was developed to tolerate the humid climates of those areas. Prestige shares all the benefits of UC Verde such as low water requirements, a low maximum height, good pest resistance, and it is also better for those with allergies with very few, if any seed heads. The difference is that Prestige is better suited for the south and southeastern US, while UC Verde is best suited for the west coast and parts of Arizona. Prestige does have a slightly different appearance than UC Verde. It shares fine grass blades, but it is not as uniformly upright and has more of a bermuda grass look.
